Ezenwa Emerges Katsina United highest paid star, signs 2-year deal

Ikechukwu Ezenwa has emerged the highest paid player at Katsina United after he signed a two-year contract with the striving NPFL club.

According to a top source who spoke with GoalBall, he said that the Super Eagles goalkeeper, who is now Katsina United highest paid player, has signed for ‘The Changi Boys’ after he had passed a routine medical on Thursday in Katsina.

He is a free agent after his contract with Enyimba ended.

Even though Ikechukwu Ezenwa salary was not publicly announced, he will be the highest earning player at the club ahead of the likes of star midfielder Destiny Ashadi, who has been capped by the CHAN Eagles.

Before now the highest paid players at Katsina United received ₦350,000 (Three Hundred Thousand Naira) a month.

The same source informed GoalBall that Ikechukwu Ezenwa salary could be in the region of ₦450,000 (Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) monthly, which is a far cry from the initial ₦700,000 (Seven Hundred Thousand Naira) he demanded during negotiations with the club.

Ezenwa will have to battle for the No 1 shirt with Niger international Kassaly Daouda, former U17 and U20 Nigeria international Dami Paul as well as long-serving Yinka David.
