Super Eagles squad for October Friendlies unveiled

Jose Peseiro the head coach of Nigeria Super Eagles has called up 25 players to camp ahead of October friendly games with Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, the games will take place in Portugal.

The invited players were announced on the Super Eagles’ X handle on Monday, 2 October 2023.

Hatayspor midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, gets his first call-up to the Nigeria senior team having impressed in so far.

There is a return to the team for the trio of Kenneth Omeruo, Alex Iwobi, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Terem Moffi.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the camp will open on the 10th of October in Faro, Portugal. The game against Saudi Arabia will take place on the 13th of October before the Eagles play Mozambique three days later.

The double friendly games will be played inside the Estadio Municipal De Portimão in Portugal.

Last month, the Super Eagles thrashed São Tomé and Principe 6-0 in their final 2023 Group A AFCON qualifier in Uyo.

They will begin the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in November starting with a home game against Lesotho before going away to face Zimbabwe.
