Burnley vs Man Utd is another exciting encounter to look forward to, with both sides looking to register wins after setbacks last weekend.

Burnley's return to the Premier League has not gone quite well as they have only been able to garner a point in their opening five outings.

However, the Clarets won in the League Cup last month but are still searching for their first win in the league under Vincent Kompany.

Burnley come into this fixture against Manchester United on the back of an impressive 1-1 draw away at Nottingham Forest on Monday night.

On the other side of the pitch, it has been a turbulent week for Man Utd. They lost at home to Brighton in the Premier League before losing 4-3 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Burnley vs Man Utd is a meeting of two teams trying to get their season on track and Turf Moor is set for an occasional night of football on Saturday.

Burnley vs Man Utd: Team news

In the lead-up to this crucial clash, Burnley do have some injury concerns, while a key player in their attack is also suspended.

Lyle Foster, who was sent off in the draw with Nottingham Forest, will miss the visit of Man Utd, while Michael Obafemi, Hjalmar Ekdal, and Darko Churlinov are all unavailable due to injuries.

Meanwhile, Jordan Beyer could make his return to the team but Vitinho will need to pass a late fitness test to make the squad.

Manchester United, on the other, have a lot of first-team players battling with one injury or the other. In fact, 11 Man Utd players missed the trip to Munich on Wednesday.

On a positive note, Raphael Varane and Mason Mount are both back in training and could make the team on Saturday night.

Sofyan Amrabat and Kobbie Mainoo took part in individual sessions away from the rest of the squad, but Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tyrell Malacia, and Amad Diallo all have significant injuries while Harry Maguire may also not recover from his muscle problem.

Wingers Antony and Jadon Sancho remain unavailable due to their separate off-pitch issues.

Burnley vs Man Utd: Head-to-Head record

Man Utd have dominated this fixture as expected as the Clarets have only won just one of their last 15 league games between the two sides (D5 L9), which was the shock 2-0 win at Old Trafford in January 2020.

Burnley are without a win in seven consecutive matches versus Man Utd at Turf Moor – losing five of these (D2) and scoring just once in this run – Jay Rodriguez’s goal in a 1-1 draw in February 2022.

The last time Burnley defeated Man Utd at home was in August 2009, which was also their first-ever Premier League meeting. Robbie Blake’s goal in the first half was the difference.

Man Utd defeated Burnley in the League Cup last season – the 2-0 victory was the last competitive meeting between the two sides. Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford got the goals in the fourth-round tie.

None of the last nine H2Hs at Turf Moor have produced more than two total match goals.

Burnley vs Man Utd: Match prediction

Burnley are still trying to find their feet in the Premier League, while Man Utd are battling injuries and struggling to get the right results at the moment.

The Red Devils could potentially have players like Varane and Mount back into the matchday squad, and that will make them look much better than the team in Munich on Wednesday.

Burnley have conceded the most goals of any team in the Premier League this season with 12 but have faced Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Tottenham in that run.

Man Utd are on a losing run of three games and Erik ten Hag knows that he needs a positive result at Turf Moor on Saturday.

With Rasmus Hojlund off the mark now, Man Utd might just grind out a first win in four games.

Final Score Prediction: Burnley 1-2 Man Utd
